Baby's Nursery

I have loved planning for and decorating the Baby's nursery.  I knew what I wanted to do in there even before I got pregnant.  The theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  It is such a classic children's book and very gender neutral.  I have been collecting caterpillar toys and other random things for the nursery for a while.  Who is ready for some pictures of my new favorite room in the house?  This is a long post so grab a snack and here we go... :)

This is what you see when you walk into the nursery.  I love the wall color.  It is called Crocodile Smile from Lowe's.  It is such a perfect soft green.  The rocker/recliner is from Wolf Furniture and it is sooooo comfortable.  I imagine Baby and I will spend a lot of time in that chair rocking, nursing and cuddling.
The changing table/dresser combo.  I love that I went with a dresser that will grow with Baby.  I attached the changing pad with 3M velcro strips so that it won't slip and slide around.  I need to take the stickers off of the trash can in the corner.  I wanted to make sure I liked it enough to keep it before I took them off and couldn't return it.  My nursing pillow {my brest friend} is in the TjMaxx bag ready to go to the hospital with us.

I want to hang a white shelf above the changing table.  My mom is working on a wall hanging for Baby that I want to hang from the shelf as well.
I had a hard time finding the perfect basket for on top of the dresser.  I didn't want a natural wood colored basket because it wouldn't stand out on the natural wood of the dresser.  I didn't want a dark colored wood because I thought it would look weird with no other dark wood in the room.  Ideally, I wanted white to go along with the white trim in the room.  I searched and searched online for a cute diaper caddie with no luck.  I found this white basket at Hobby Lobby and it is perfect!  I made the liner out of the Hungry Caterpillar dots fabric that we used for the valance and crib skirt.  I had just enough left over.  The two caddies in the front of the basket are from IKEA.  I had my dad pick me up some drawer organizer sets and they are awesome.  The basket houses 20 newborn diapers, a full size wipes box and the two organizers.  The one on the left has diaper rash creams and baby lotion, the one on the right has hand sanitizer and some pacifiers.
View of the bookshelf and crib.  I love the colorful crib skirt that my mom made with me.  The green drawers go with the wall color perfectly.  Once Baby arrives, were are going to mount white wooden letters to spell out the name above the crib.
Inside of the crib.  The crib sheet is from Pottery Barn Kids.  Absolutely perfect for this nursery.  I made the boppy cover out of super soft Hungry Caterpillar flannel and a white minky dot on the opposite side.  Baby's friends Mickey and Fudge Bunny (who was mine) are waiting for him or her to arrive.  I love the look of the white breathable mesh bumper and it's great since the traditional fabric bumpers are no longer recommended.
Big Brother Geno sneaking into the shot of the bookshelf.  The shadow box sitting on top was a baby shower gift from my sister Kate.  The front opens and I can switch the stuff out easily.  Right now it has the baby shower invitation and some ultrasound photos.  I need to find a place to hang it on the wall.  The little lamp is from IKEA {base & shade}.  The big caterpillar was from Kohl's a long time ago.  I bought the small Hungry Caterpillar bead toy from Totsy a while ago as well.

Here are the wall decals along the border of the room...
The wall with the bookshelf and crib.
Here is a good shot of the valance Mom and I made.
The wall with the changing table/dresser.
Above the closet and door to the nursery.
A friend made me the diaper wreath.  I took off all of the onesies, bibs, burp cloths, etc that she had attached too it but just the diapers are super cute.

Inside Baby's closet.  Lots of diapers, wipes and blankets.
The diaper bag is packed and ready to go with Baby's stuff for the hospital!

Geno is looking so cute after a trip to the groomer last week.
I think he is ready for his new sibling!

Because I'm a nerd and took pictures of what's inside the dresser drawers.
You'll see the IKEA organizers again!
 Burp cloths, hats and socks.
Newborn drawer:  onesies, sleepers, gowns, etc.
0-3 Months drawer:  onesies, sleepers, gowns, etc.
Extra pacifiers, waterproof pads for on changing table and in crib, q-tips,
thermometer, nail clippers, hair brush, nasal aspirator, infant tylonol, etc.
Receiving blankets, swaddle me blankets, muslin swaddle blankets, and fleece sleeper sacks
 Bath time!  Towels and washcloths

Here are the baby's possible coming home outfits:
If Baby Morrow is a girl, she will wear this super cute flower sleeper
with a white headband that has a bow on it.

If Baby Morrow is a boy, he will wear this navy and white
terry cloth monkey sleeper with a monkey hat.

We are so excited to meet this little baby!
We only have 13 days until I'm full term
and 34 days until my due date!!
